Important Red Wolf Organizations

There are a number of organizations working to save red wolves from extinction. While some focus only on red wolves, others also strive to protect other kinds of wildlife. It is important to learn about these groups in order to support their efforts to preserve red wolves and other wildlife around the world. The organizations listed alphabetically below are just a few of the many animal institutions, private action groups, and government organizations that have a hand in the conservation of red wolves.

The National Wolfwatcher Coalition "educates, advocates, and participates" to help wolves of all kinds. Based in Duluth, Minnesota, Wolfwatcher promotes wolf conservation efforts while educating the public about wild canids such as red wolves.

The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium (PDZA) is at the forefront of the Red Wolf Species Survival Plan overseen by the AZA. Home to a number of red wolves, the institution has long been a key player in the continuation of the red wolf population.
